Do I need a Travel Consultation?

Risks to personal health while travelling vary between individuals and many issues and factors need to be taken into account; for example, activities abroad, length of stay and general health of the traveller.

It is, then, recommended that you have a Travel Consultation at least 6 to 8 weeks in advance of travel. This is a good opportunity to assess your particular health risks before recommending vaccines and /or antimalarial tablets.

Advice on important travel health issues, including safe food and water, accidents, sun exposure and insect bites; are also given by a qualified specialist during the Travel Consultation. Many of the problems experienced by travellers cannot be prevented by vaccinations and other preventive measures need to be taken.

Who will see me in the Consultation?

You will be seen by a qualified and experienced travel specialist who has up to date knowledge of travel vaccines, disease processes and malaria prevention, in relation to a specific destination.

We work with the Department of Health and World Health Organizations to provide our patients with the most up to date information on travel health.

Which vaccinations do I need?

It all depends on everyone's individual personal health conditions and planned itinerary. Our travel specialist will assess your individual circumstances and provide you with the most up to date information and advice on travel health, specific to the planned destination.

Do I need to bring aything?

If you have chronic or complex health conditions please bring a letter from your GP or Specialist with the information to assist us in providing you with travel vaccinations and/or medications.

It will also be necessary that you inform us of any past vaccination history that you may have.

How much does it cost?
